World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a significant possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.
You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes more quickly.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Using Glyphs Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For example that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets upgraded.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a problem because it can make the item more expensive if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrade s. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it could waste lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is very useful in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The item upgrader lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original condition which means that the player has to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance damage to attack, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
